In the spirit of Renouée, the circle was the form that I thought best represented an ecosystem. I cut out strips of paper to explore variations on the circle, finally settling on the well-known Möbius Strip. This band, in which the inner surface is also the outer surface, truly represents an internally autonomous system, but always in relation with another, larger system.
An ecotone is a transition area between two ecosystems, a borderline zone that shares characteristics of both environments.
